STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
To apply for on-campus student employment, simply answer “yes” that you are interested in Federal Work-study (FWS) on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Incoming New Students Awarded Federal Work-Study (FWS) should bring several copies of their resume’ to campus for hiring supervisors to review during our Job Fair in August during Orientation. See student orientation schedule for time and location.
The purpose of the Carson-Newman student employment program is to provide students an opportunity to earn money to assist with educational expenses. Carson-Newman employs over 400 students during the academic year.
Students who are awarded student employment (FWS) for the academic year or wish to apply for a position this year, must answer “yes” on the student interest section of the FAFSA to indicate that you are interested in Federal Work-Study.
Being awarded student employment (FWS) gives you priority to positions available on campus but does not secure an available position. Students will still have to meet interview expectations of hiring supervisors. Respond to any requests from hiring supervisors for job interviews or follow-up phone calls.
All policies and procedures can be easily obtained by reviewing the Student Employment Handbook. Current student employees that wish to change your position should consult the Student Employment Handbook for procedures to follow.
